THE, EISK JUBILEE! SmGESk
Speaking of the Welilngtoir Season 'the of April 22nd, says: "As was the case with the original Ksk Jubilee Singers the new. combination, which opened a season most auspiciously at the Town. Hall Concert Chamber on •Saturday night, make a decided, feature ,of concerted numbte. Thja J&bilee iehoruses, especially, are marvels of well lattuned harmony and gradations of Itonal power, ranging from St real pianlissimo to fortissimo. The former we 'rarely get in Wellington, and to all J choirs these Jubilee Singers provide a jmost admirable example to be earnestly studied. In "Steal Aswiy", the ling number, the voices stole ia with [something of mystery as to where isilenco was ended and the voices were iheard; and after joyous outbursts, vibrant, forceful, emphatic, the voices istole away again, to recommence' in that remarkable setting of the "Lord's •Prayer," which the Jubilee /Singera ha-ve made peculiarly their own on account of' the remarkable co-ordination .and articulation which no other body of vocalists Beemsito be aifle to accomplish." The Company will appear at the Empire theatre on Wednesday and Thursday, August 7th and Bth.. The box plan opens at. Collier's on Saturday (morning:.
