Unionist members of the present Government were prepared to introduce a, Bill to give effect to some sort of selfgovernment for Ireland in order,to get ride, of the home rule question, even if it, alienated a large, section of-JSieir party.,; : ;. It was impossible to put any form of pome fiule in operation m Ireland si present No sane man would suggest handing tbe Government to the Sinn Feiners. The Nationalists should cbpy the 'attitude of Irishmen all over the wtffld who not only wanted liberty, but were willing to fight for it.
