BAD WEATHER IN CANTERBURY.

FURTHER FALL OF SNOW. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ohristohurch, July 25. There was a light fall of snow this morning, following heavy rain overnight, and the weather remains bitterly cold, without any signs of clearing. There are still interruptions in the train service on the Midland and Little River lines. It is doubtful whether communication by rail with Arthur's Pass will 'be restored this week, and on the Little River line the work gang has not yet succeeded in repairing the breach in the embankment, caused by a washout on Lake Forsyth. The electrical supply from Lake Ooleridsre is now normal on the two main transmission lines and the branch lines that radiate from Ohristchuroh. Permanent repairs to replace all the temporary ones effected during the big storm arc proceeding expeditiously, and are expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Bootmakers experienced a great boom in business on Monday and Tuesday. Inquiries showed that never before had theie been such a president demand. Stocks of goloshes were soon depleted, and there was also a great demand for ruMx-r boots.
