Mr. Hickman Russell was appointed the Board's arbitrator in the assessment of new rentals for several E. K. leases about to expire. M. Mattar, licensee of Section 3, Block V, Fiopiotea West was granted six months extension of time to reside. Elizabeth Wilson, lessee of Sections 20 and 21, Town of Hawera Extension No. 5, was granted permission to erect improvements to the value of £4BO, comprising house of three rooms (£320), workshop (£3O), wash-house, etc., £35), lattice, fences, gates ( £3O), concrete yards ( £SO), cowshed (£23), fowlhouse and yard (20),

Harry Iluckle was granted twelve months extension of time to complete improvements on Section 2, Block HI, Piopiotea West, lie being a soldier still on active service. Messrs Roy and Nicholson applied on behalf of Mr. IT. CI. Cunningham to purchase Sections 1, 3, 8, 0, 27, 33, 49, 01, 05, 00, 70, 80, 00, 90, 07 and 102, Tikorangi Township—The Board approved offering the Crown Lots at public auction at upset, prices to be fixed by the Crown Lands Ranger. The licensee of Section 0, Block XI, Mahoc S. D. 530 acres, applied for permission to forfeit his holding.—Forfeited as at 30th .June 1018, without respect to overdue rent. A. .T. Woolston was granted twelve months exemption from residence on Section If. Block XVI, Ohura, he being still on active service. George Parker, lessee of Section 10, Block I, Rangi, applied for exemption from residence.—Approved provided the lessee complies with conditions embodied in Section 22 (2) of tho Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913. Paul Koho and Emil Widner, through tljfir solicitors, applied to surrender their Section 0 ,Block f, Pouatii S. D. 1090 acres, selected 26th May, 1915—Surrender accepted as from 30th June, 1018, for improvements in favor of persons entitled thereto. Mr. N. O. Kensington, District Surveyor, reorted on Section 1), Block XI, Tangitu S. D., 355 acres for offering for discharged soldier settlement.—-Re-solved to rescind the Board's resolution of 24th January. 1917, and open the land under special tenures for discarged soldiers.
