EVERYBODY'S. BESSIE LOVeIFa TRIANGLE ' FEATURE, '■STRANDED."' "Stranded," a romantic film-drama from the Triangle studios, which commences a two night season at Everybody's to-night,, is a very: charming story and succeeds in getting -off the beaten track. The winsome little heroine is Bessie Love who was never more appealing, while De Wolf Hopper as the broken-clown Shakespearian actor makes a memorable figure. These two are members of a vaudeville troupe which is on the point of bankruptcy, fho unscrupulous; manager, fascinated by the Little trapeze girl, proposes to appropriate the funds of the troupe and run away, taking the girl with him. She refuses, and is so disturbed over the proposal that she meets with an accident while doing her act. The troupe departs, leaving her behind. The broken-dpwn actor stays to look after her and passes her off as hi,s daughter. .Things then go on. quite ,smoothly for a while. The girl becomes engaged to p. fine young fellow of the township and the wedding is arranged. Then the rascally manager turns up,,and threatens to reveal to the bridegroom's staid parents that the girl used to be on. the stago and actually wore tights, jln the ensuing scene'the old actor plays the grandest part of his life. The picture has a very unique appeal. THE EMPIRE. HAROLD LOCKWOOD IN A VIGOROUS DRAMA "THE AYENGLVG TRAIL." Harold Lockwood enacts the most vigorous role he lias had in his eight years' experience before the camera in Metro's production of "The Avenging Trail/' a five-act drama, of the timberlands, adapted from Henry Owen's novel ''Gaston Olaf," which commences a three night season at the Empire t6nighfc. Gaston Olaf is described as a blood brother to the great outdoors, as big, as free, as lawless. With his partner, Tom Pine, he descends upon Havens lawless village in the heart of the Northern lumber country, in search of excitement and adventure. He Jneets | what he is seeking when upon entering Ithe village he finds Rose Havens struggling to free herself from the embrace of Lefty Red, a notorious character. He compels Red to release the girL is challenged to fight, accepts the challenge, and after a bitter struggle returns the victor. Thereafter Gaston finds' himself in a whirl of adventure.-He takes charge of a gang of lumber jacks employed by Taggart: to cut ..a lot of timber. The timber belongs to Miss Havens. When Gaston, learns this ne decides to compel Taggnrt to make reparation. A battle of wits ensues culminating in a tremendous'fight between the two men, the like of which has seldom, if ever, been recorded by the camera. A delightful love episode involving Gaston and Rose is woven into the story.
