President Wilson has issued a proclamation announcing that the Government will control telegraph cables, wireless, and telephones for the duration of the war.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc. SYMPATHY WITH ROOSEVELT. Washington, July 21. Following on the confirmation of the death of Lieutenant Quentin Roosevelt, President Wilson telegraphed to Mr. Roosevelt: "I am greatly distressed at your son's death.
