ESCAPEES FROM MENTAL HOSPITAL.

ONE CAPTURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Rarotongan, Toeta Kai Nuku, who, with Norman Reals; escaped from a mental hospital on Sunday evening, was recaptured near Henderson this evening. Keals took refuge in a 40-acro paddock of gorse, which has been surrounded by a party of police. The strength, however, was not sufficient to enter the gorse, and strong reinforcements have been sent out. It is expected the capture will be effected tonight. Muir, farm manager at the Hospital, saw two men crossing the road, and, riding up, fired two shots into the air, calling oa them to surrender. Nuku threw up his hands, but Keals dashed into the gorse.
