HUNTING.
The North Taranaki Hunt had a most enjoyable afternoon on Thursday last when the hunt met at Mr. A. Wood's farm, Tikorangi. Mr. Wood and his neighbors had gone to a lot of trouble, and the country was in first-class hunting order. The weather was also a great improvement on the previous four or five Thursdays, and consequently huntsmen had a royal day out. The hounds worked splendidly. The hares ran straight, and gave both huntsmen and horses all they wanted by call oil' time, when an adjournment was made to the homestead. Mrs Wood had a very nice afternoon tea awaiting visitors anil huntsmen, and it was very much appreciated. Mr. Chancy returned thanks to .Mr and Mrs Wood and to the adjoining farmers for their kindness to the hunt. On Thursday next the hunt will meet a# Messr3 Skelton and Kdwin's, when huntsmen and visitors are sure of a hearty welcome.
