The 'Defence Minister says that men who have been called will go into camp on the dates fixed both in August and September. The drafts are small, and all the men will be needed. He expected certainly to he in a position to drop the December draft, and, though not desirous of making promises, Sir James Allen indicated that possibly the January draft would also not bo required ]f the December draft-was dropped, it would mean that probably not more than about GOO additional Second Division men will receive orders to mobilise this year. "
