FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT.
THE INQUEST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Wellington, Last Night. The inquest on OrmondC. Cooper, who died on Saturday as the result of an accident in Molesworth Street on the previous Wednesday, was concluded to. day. Frank James Griffin, driver of the lorry concerned in the collision, said he was on the rigbt-hand side of- the road because the left side was too narrow to allow him to pass a car safely. The night was dark, and he was carrying a light beneath the shaft, on the righthand side- Witness, considered the driver of the taxi-ear was travelling at an excessive speed. The lorry was stopped close to the gutter. After the accident the lamp was missing. The coroner (Mr. Riddell, S.M.) said that, ia his opinion, the verdict must be that deceased died from injuries accidentally received. 'He added: "I do not not think, under the circumstances, that any blame can be attached to the driver of the motor-car, and, so far as the driver of the lorry is concerned, I make no remark."
