WEDDINGS.

SEBOEMABK—LILLY. A very pretty wedding of local interest took place at St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, yesterday, the contracting parties being Mr. Howard William George Shoeniark, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Shoemarii, of Albert Road, and Miss Lucy Selina Lilly, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Lilly, of Kairairo. The bridesmaids were the Misses Shoemark, E. Shoemark, and H. Lilly. Mr. F. Coldrick acted as best-man, and Messrs C. Coldrick and 3. Lilly as groomsmen. The Ven. Archdeacon Evans officiated. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at Messrs May and Arrowsmith's. Archdeacon Evans presided, and proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, which was drunk with musical honors. After he had replied, the bridegroom proposed the toast of "The British Empire," which was received enthusiastically. The toast of 'The Parents of the Bride and 'Bridegroom" was proposed by Mr. G. Marsh, a very old friend of both families Other toasts honored were:—"The Bridesmaids and Groomsmen," proposed "by the bride and replied to by Mr F. Coldrick; "The Car-drivers," "The Press," and "The Ven. Archdeacon Evans," the latter being proposed by the bridegroom, the reply by the Archdeacon •being thoroughly characteristic. The bridegroom's j>resent to the bride was a beautiful gold brooch, and the bridesmaids also were recipients of similar gifts. The bride's present to the bridegroom was a gold tiepin. The happy couple were also the recipients of very many valuable and useful presents. The bride's dress was of charmeuse silk, with square yoke and pretty belt effect. She wore the usual veil and orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white roses and maiden-hair fern. The bridesmaids dresses were of white silk, made m coat frock style. They wore mop-caps trimmed with pink roses, and carried bouquets of pink roses, heather, and asparagus fern. After the wedding breakfast, the newly-married couple left for their new home at Kaimiro.
