SLIP ON THE MALN" TRUNK LINE. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Taumarunui, July 15. The Auckland-Wellington express this morning ran into a slip near Taringsmotu station, a few miles from here. The engine was derailed- Aid from Tau- i marunui was obtained by the engine whistling. The train was delayed five hours, Teaching Taumarunui about seven o'clock. FIRE AT MARTON. Marton, July 15. The fine two-storey residence of Mr. J. G- Hewitt, S.M., which was till lately ' owned by Dr. Skerman, was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday evening. Tlie loss included an art collection, and law library. There was an insurance of £1*250 on the building in the South British office and £6OO on the furniture in the Norwich Union office. i ' ■
