ARBITRATION COURT.
AN INTERESTING POINT, liy Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, July 11. An interesting point in, connection with industrial disputes was before the Arbitration Court today, in the case of the Canterbury Timber Yards and Sawmill Workers. Last December the union representatives and employers arrived at an agreement which was subsequently ratified by the Conciliation Council. When the case was before the Arbitration Court in March, a representative of the union applied for an amendment to the agreement, asking for,lo percent, war bonus to ,be added to the wages The employers' representative objected, and the union was granted the right to withdraw the case, which subsequently came before the Conciliation Council again without any result- To-day the union again applied for the war honu3, while the employers asked that the agreement be made the award as it stood.
