Tliere was a very large attendance of buyers from all parts o£ Turanaki, and wo report one of the most successful sales ever held in that district, lligli prices were realised throughout. On Saturday, June 2®, at Te Hot), we held a clearing sale of Mr. C. Coad's dairy dairy cows, etc. We report a good sale. Best cows sold at from £l3 to £lO, others £8 to £l2. At Okaiawa on Monday— Fresh and forward eows £8 to £!) Bs, store cows £5 to £7 17s, weaner heifers £2 to £2 12s Gd, good weaners £4 18s, store lambs 20s. At Waiongona on Monday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. J. O. Taylor. Best dairy cows £dS to £l6] others £8 to £lti 10s, horses £l6 to £2B. At Ot&keho on Monday, at Mr. Raymond Jones', we held a clearing sale of his live and dead stock. The following are some *i'l the prices realised: Best dairy cow s £2O to £29, others £l2 to £ls, weaners £3 3s, jersey bulls 2gns, store pigs 2os, sow and litter £8 2s Od to £lO 2s e-d. At Opunake yards on Tuesday we held *i sale on account of Mrs J. A. Lusk. There was a small attendance of buyers, The cows were in rather low condition, and prices weres lower than at recent sales. Best dairy eows £.12 to £ls, others £8 to £ll 10s, weaners £2 10s.
At Fraser >-oad, Eltham, on Tuesday, at Mr. A. L. Campbell's clearing sale, a most satisfactory sale resulted- Best dairy cows £l4 to £lB 10s, others £9 10s to £l3 10s. 'Kltham yards, Wednesday.—Fat ewes 31s sd, other ewe s 27s 3d, lambs 21s 9d to 22s Sd, iorward and stor? cows £5 12s Get to £S 10s, dairy cows £l2 10s. At Sutherland Road, Manaia, on Wednesday, we held a clearing sale on account of Mr. Owen MoPliillips. There was a large attendance of buyers from the surrounding districts, and we report n real good sale. The pedigree jersey cows sold at from 25gns to 53gns, pedigree heifers to 40gns, pedigree weaner heifers £l6 10s to 21gns, pedigree butls 30gns to 32gns. The grade dairy cows sold at from £22 to £33 ior early ealvers, others £l2 to £2O, the whole herd averaging £2l Is. ln-calf heifers £lO to £2O. Horses, '£'lß to £2O. Implements and sundries sold well.
On Thursday we held a clearing, sale on account of Mr. J. K. Selby, of Riverlea, and report a successful sale The best dairy cows sold at from £l3 to £l6 10s, others £7 10s to 'il2. At Midhirst, on Thursday, on account oi Mrs J. O. Harvey, dairy coW3, etc. were disposed of at satisiactory prices. (Best dairy cows £l2 to £ls, others £8 5s to £ll 10s.
Hawera, Thursday: Practically everything was sold at the hammer. In-lamb ewes 22s 9d to 30s 7d, best store lambs 21s to 24s 9d, others 13s (id tcf 18s 63, cull ewes 6s to 12s 9d, fat cows £l2 10s to £.13, forward and store cows £(> 10s to £0 15s, store steers £lO, good weaner steers £3 16s to £4 His. others £3 Ss to £3 10s, weaner heifers £1 17s od to £3, empty 20-month heifers £4 to £4 12s Cd, 20-month steers £'7 14s, small store pigs 18s to 245. At Sutherland road, Manaia, on Friday, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mrs McVinnie. There was an average attendance, and prices realised were on a par with late rates. Best dairy cows sold at from £H> to £2O, others £lO to £ls 10s, in-calf heifers £9 to £l2 10s, weaner heifers £2 2s 6d to £3 7s Cd, lam'bs 265, horses £7 10s to £l7.
At Waverley yards, on Friday, there v.-as a small entry of both cattle and sheep. We quote: Store lambs 17s 2d, dairy cows £l2 to £ls, weaners £1 2s to £1 10s, store cows £7 12s 6d, 20-month empty heifers £5 19s. .
N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.'S REPORT. The N.£. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd,. (Hawctra branch) report as follows: At Calooia farm on Saturday, June 29, on acocunt of Mr. John Nicolson, junr., we held a very successful sale. The grade cows made from £lO to £29, averaging £2l 15s, grade two-year heifers, £lO to £1."); grade yearlings £1 16s. The pedigrees also met with keen competition, Miss French making 80 gns, the other cows from 20gns to 42 gns, bulls (yearling) 3gns, Lakeside Butter-pat 25gns, 2-year heifers lGgns to 42gns, yearling sgns to 45gns. The yearling Calooia Thistle, by Cherry's Squire out of Thistledown, made 45gns, being purchased by Mr. TT„ H,. Buxton, of Auroa,. Miss French was purchased by Mr. T. H. Hickland, of Otalceho, and the. 2-ycar heifer Calooia Rose, by Belvedere Fair Boy out of Oaklea's Rose, made 42gns, being knocked down to Mr. D. Malone, Riverlea,. The sundries and farm implements sold exceptionally well.
At Opunake, on Monday, our yarding was small and i' i> weather boisterous, consequently the attendance was ■small. Forward and store cows £7 10s to £9 10a, light cows fb to £0 15s. At Kapuni, on Monday, we held a clearing sale for Mr. F, E. Woods, and quote: Good cows £l4 10s to £2O 10s, backwsird and old cows £7 10s to £l3 10s, the herd averaging £l3 ss, store pigs (small) £1 10s, sows £2 2s to £7 2s 6d, weaners (mixed) £2 Is, 2-year in-calf heifers £8 10s to £lO, empty cows £7. On Monday, at Eltham, we also held a sale on account of Mr. G,. H. Mattock, who is gointj into camp,. Cows in milk £ll to £l9 10s, gelding £l7. At Manaia, on Tuesday, we had a fair yarding, and quote: Empty tellers and light cows £5 17s fid to £7 (is, store and forward cows £7 10s to £B, yearling steers £2 2s 6d to £3 10s, yearling heifers £2 8s to £3 7s, store pigs £2 5s to £2 7s, small stores £1 10s to £1 15s, sow £4 ss. On Tuesday we had a very big attendance at Mr. A. B. Washer's clearing sale at Alton, and everything sold well. ments at current rates. The whole herd > averaged £l4. On Wednesday, at OJiangai, oa account of Mr,. Jerry Kerriak, jun., we held an exceptionally good sale. All the cows were second calvers, and sold from £l2 10s to £25; the whole herd averaging £ls 13a; implements and simdries made good money. On Friday, at !P'almer Road, our yarding was small on account of the Winter Show.
