THE HUNS' RECORD. Germany' 3 record of attacks on hospiI tal ships is as follows: February, 1915.—Unsuccessful attempt to torpedo the Asturias in the English Channel. March 30th, 1910.—Portugal torpedoed and sunk in the Black Sea. One hundred lives lost, including ma/iv women. November, 191 ti. -- Britannic and Braemar Castle sunk in the Mediterranean. Not sufficient evidence to prove whether they were mined or torpedoed. February Ist, 1917. —Order put into operation that all hospital ships found in certain areas would bo treated as belligerents and attacked forthwith. March 2(Hh, 1917.—Asturias torpedoed with lo.is of 43 lives; ;}!l injured. March 30tli, 1917.—Gloucester Castle torpedoed in mid-channel. All the wounded saved. April 17th, 1917. —Donegal torpedoed; 2fl wounded and 12 of the crew lost. April 17, 1917. —Lanfeanc torpedoed; 19 British lives lost; 15 German wounded drowned; 102 German wounded rescued by British vessels at the risk of heing attacked. January 9th. 1918.-—Rewa torpedoed in the Bristol Channel (outside prohibited area) at midnight, the torpedo striking immediately under the illuminated Red Cross. There were 550 on board, including 300 wounded from the Mediterranean. Three Lascars were killed. June 27th, 1918.—Llandovery Castle, torpedoed over 100 miles from land and pe.vly 300 miles from the prohibited nvaj 234 lives lost out of 258 on board.
