FIRES.

DEFENCE OFFICE DAMAGED., By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, July 6, Fire destroyed the store room at the Defence Office yesterday and spread to the office of adjutant of the 12th Regiment. Good work by the brigade prevented further damage. The store was fully stocked with clothing and equipment, and the damage is estimated at several hundreds of pounds.
