FOOTBALL.
HIGH SCHOOL "A" v. TECHNICAL COLLEGE. The flrst match of the season between the above schools, which was played on tho racecourse yesterday afternoon, aroused a good deal or Interest, and there were a number of spectators in addition to those associated with the two institutions. The play was strenuous throughout, and a thoroughly friendly spirit was maintained to the finish. College played with the wind in the first half, and secured a goal from a penalty, kicked by Huru. On changing ends the School attacked vigorously, and the play was almost entirely In the College territory. Three tries wore registered, McKay scoring 2 and Osborne 1, but none of them were converted, the game thus ending 9 polnU to 3 in favor of the School. Mr. 1. Johnson was referee. ROVERS V. HIGH SCHOOL "B." The match between the above teams was played on the recreation ground, and was won by tho Rovers. The only score In tho game was a try registered by Paul, which wa3 not converted. Mr. Howell was referee.
