TARANAKI EDUCATION BOARD.

ELECTION IX SOUTH WARD. Nominations of candidates to fill the vacancies on the Taranaki Education Board closed on Wednesday night. Excepting in the South Ward, the numbers of candidates nominated does not exceed the number required, and there will, therefore, be no election in those wards. In the South Ward, for the. seat to be vacated by Mr. E. Dixon, of Hawcra, who is not seeking re-election, three candidates have been nominated, and an election will take place on July 17 T Tor the new urban, area of New Flymouth, Messrs S.- G. Smith, who previously sat (with Mr. V. J. White) as representative of the North Ward, and 11. H. Grayling, of New Plymouth, have been nominated. Following are tho other nominations received: — North Ward—Mr. A, G. Knight (Pungarehu). South Ward—Messrs H. J. Eaves (Otakeho), S. S. Sage, and S. Tnrkington (Hawera). Central Ward—Mr. S. Trimble (Inglewood).
