By Telegraph.—Press Association* Auckland, last NSgbfc At the Police Court, August Gckerstrom, a milk vender, was fined £9O and 99s costs on a chajge that on May 1 ts sold milk containing 19 per cent, of added water, that on May 3 lie sold milk deficient in milk fat, and on May 80 be sold milk containing 14 per cent, of I added water. Defendant had been fined £2O the week before last for selKnfc on April 23, milk that contained added water. Mary Jillings was fined £lO and costs (dßs) on a charge that she sold milk not up to standard, the analysis showing, in one instance, 14 per cent, of added water and 12 per cent, deficiency in non-fatty solids, and in tho other 11 per cent, of added water, and II .per cent, deficiency of non-fatty talks, George G. Stone was fined £3 for selling milk slightly deficient in fat and also milk slightly deficient in non-fatty solids. Wilfred J. Wheeler was fined £5 for selling milk 8 per cent, below tin standard in fat. THE BOOT TRADE. c Auckland. Last Nigkt, A 1 conference of representatives of the' boot manufacturers of the Dominion and representatives of the New Zealand Federated Boot Trade, presided over by Sir Frederick Lang, hag been sitting hero for the last three days, endeavoring to agree upon a new award to replace that which expired on June 5. No satisfactory progress towards a settlement could be made, and the proceedings were " abandoned. The dispute will be brought before the Conciliation Council.
