ENTERTAINMENTS.

i EVHBYBODYIS. DOUBLE ATTRACTION TO-NIGHT. For the change of bill to-night at Everybody's, the management announce a double attraction. I a addition to a full picture programme there will appear N.Z.'s premier juggler and heavyweight balancer, in the person of Mr *orman Tate. Mr. Tate will give a fifteen minutes' performance of Cleveland unique jugglery and several feats of daring balancing, including the thrilling sword pet," where a genuine heavy sword is balanced on the forehead Without the use of any pads Whatever. ' Incidentally Mr. Tate invites any member of the audience to step up and try this feat on the hand (or forehead if desired). Mr. Tate's performance has been lughly spoken of wherever he has appeared and local amusement seekers will find much that is interesting and entertaining in his "turn." The pl e . tore portion of the programme is headed by the Blue-bird msterplay, "Southern Justice,' in which the charming Myrtle Gonzalez is featured. The story of a life's ambition is here revaled and it Is at once vivid and intensely dramatic. 'Auckland to Hunua" provides travel whilst "Boy, Girl and Auto" will be responsible for much hearty laughter. "Her Boy" is a two-reel drama, by the Hepworth Co., which on a less conspicuous programme would be the headline* (The Hepworth Co., were the producers of "My Old Dutch"), this programme will be shown to-night and to-morrow aight THE EMPIRE. "ENLIGHTEN THY DAUGHTER" No powerful problem drama has ever been screened possessing the force of Enlighten Thy Daughter," the Enlightenment Corporation's greatest snperfeaure now showing at the Empire. ; The writer commences at once with his text. On a great height are shown two blindfolded girls. One walks on with no hand to guide her. From the eyes of the other the bandage is.removed by a loving parent, and she sees in time, far below, her, depths of shame. Then the play proper begins and the working out of the lives of the two girls, differently brought up, is worked with re- ; lentless sincerity. Ruth is told in unmistakable language by her mother what the danger is of chance meetings with you% men. Lillian is kept in ignorance by a mother wbo is herself far from beyond reproach, and so the girl falls a prey to the first fascinating man she meets. Her life is forfeited, for her mother puts her in the hands of an evil doctor, and as a result of his work, the innocent girl dies.... There Is also a parallel lesson of a young woman who is afraid of motherhood, but sees the peril and wrong of her idea in time. The acting is wonderful throughout. The cast should not be signalled out, as in no single instance does it fall 'short. The settings are superb. The drama has been an international success as well it should "Enlighten Thy Daughter" will be repeated to-night and to-morrow. ROYAL LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY CONCERT THIS EVENING. The concert to.be held under the auspices of the above society at the. Good Templar Hall to-night 'is certain to draw a good attendance, because of the merits of the performers. The programme is well varied, and as most of the performers are well known the items are sure to be most popular. A late item that has (been added to the pro-' gramme is dancing by Miss 'May Fahy, a wee colJeen of 10 years. In addition to the vocal and musical portion of the programme, the presentation of prizes and awards will be an interesting ceremony.
