N.P. HIGH SCHOOL V. STRATFORD. The weather conditions were vile for the above match, decided at Stratford on Thursday, persistent rain, a sadden ball and heavy ground making anything approaching good foot--kill nhuGst impossible. Mr. J. H. Thompson was referee, and had anything but a plensant tusk. Under the circumstances there "was little back play, the game being more or less a scramble, and mainly forward rushes. In the first spell Stratford gained three points—a try scored by Fryday, Die attempt at goal falling. In the second half the High School players set up a persistent attack, and twice broke through the local defence, but in each instance the attempts to Increase the score were unsuccessful.
