MINERS' TROUBLES.
A CONFERENCE ARRANGED. By Telegraph,—Press Association. Dunedin, Friday. It is understood that as the result of the activities of the miners, principally on the West Coast, Mr. Mac Donald, Minister for Mines, has arranged a conference in Wellington on June 10, between the owners and the representatives of the miners, to consider the claims for increased wages. Another matter which is likely to come before the conference concerns the refusal of exemption frdm military service of those men oh. the West Coast who came out on strike some months ago because their comrades declined to pay the levy for the relief of the strikers of New South Wales.
