ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE EMPIRE. Blue (blood as an object of worship, is tlie theme of "The Regenerates," the peculiarly named Triangle drama screening to-night at:the Empire for the first time. Alma Reubens heads the cast, and she is wonderful in tlie rolo of the healthy, wholesome girl, who refuses to link herself to her degenerate first cousin, to preserve the family traditions. Walt Whitman is perfect as the proud old aristocrat with the cast-iron will, who tramples upon the feelings of all around him, in his passionate devotion to what he considers to be the purity of the Van Dytin race. The story is full of surprises, for after the murder of young Van Dyun, it is found that he was all tha time married to the daughter of the family butler. The old man is thus forced to know that his grandson is one of the plebeian" strain. The love story, of course, has it happy ending. The setting of thestory is a triumph,.for the Triangle' studios. One room scene' ij'j set in the mansion of the Van Dyutrij I and it is a masterpiece of scenic artistry. Alma Reuben's dresses, too, wilt be of interest to all fashion followers. Supporting films include Pa tlic's Weekly War Budget, "Coaching at Keswick" (a, novelty), and "Captain Jinks' Expectations" <& Vitagraph comedy). EVERYBODY'S. The new programme shown to capacity houses on Saturday at Everybody's proved much above the average, and bids fair to attract another large audience to-night, when it will be screened for the last time- The Pathe master serial photo novel, "The Keglected Wife," is in its second chapter, and is already commencing to get quite a grip on serialists. The production bids fair to outshine anything yet seen in the "to be continued* class A big Brady-World film picture is "A Woman Alone." more or less of a prolblem play, in which the star artist is Miss Alice Brady, with Edward Langfard and Arthur Ashley in the hero and villain parts respectively. The story deals with the mind of a woman who marries n. telegraphist and is compelled to live in a lonely outpost, far from kindred souls. She finds life dull and depressing until Stephen Carter ;'the villain of the piece; makes hi 3 appearance. He at onca sets about the ruin of the young wife, and tells her glowing stories of the life,of the "city that haith no heart." The events that follow are most interesting, and make a picture that is natural, convincing, and withal somewhat daring, but is carried through by the delicacy of the producers' handling. The Weekly Topical Budget is also shown.
