OPUNAKE COURSING.

SEAPLANE WINS TWE PURSE. The Opunake Coursing Club's meeting was brought to a successful conclusion yesterday, when the finals o p the Pnrse were cot off at Punearehu. Throughout the six days of the meeting the coursing has been very interesting, there being comparatively few kills—less than ten throughout (a tribute to the running powers of the hares). The flnnl of the "Purse, after a good course, went to the Wanganui-owned flog, Seaplane, which occupied a similar position in the recent Waterloo Purse. There were splendid attendances rtg-lit through, despite the fact that on two days the weather was unfavorable. The work of the officials, and particularly of the secretary (Mr. C. Evetts), came in for high praise from all competitors Messrs. ,T. .Tenkinson (New Plymouth) and T. Richards (Palmerston North), as judges, gave complete satisfaction. The results of yesterday's coursing are as follow: OPUNAKE PURSE. Second Hound: Whiz Bang heat Miss Bell; King's Pride beat Kfngf Poi; Seaplane beat Nix; finltee More beat Iceberg; Pirate's Dream bent Pirate Maid; Sweet Comedy beat Plying Fos. Third Round: King's Pride beat Miss Bell; Seaplane beat Galtee More; Pirate's Dream beat Sweet Comedy. Semi-final. Seaplane beat King's Pride; Pirate's Dream a bye. j Final: I .T. Shore's (Wanganui) Seaplane 5 beat Mr. J. Burgess's Pirate's Dream nil.
