The important part the Dominion <Hawera) Winter Show has taken in connection with meeting an emergency is referred ito by the local Star, which shows that the fine Kitchener Hall, which was urgently wanted lor snow purposes, was given up. to t!he dairy, companies for storago purposes, and is now storing and keeping in perfect condition nearly a quarter of a million pounds' worth of cheese. The Show Company at once set about providing further space, but before the building was complete the extension was leaseu for the requirements of the Government. As the Star says, the executive are entitled to liberal support and encouragement from the whole district- "They are doing a good work. The influence of the show must be felt in many directions. It is educative and instructive. It has for its ofojecit the fostering of the great dairying industry, and, indeed, of all the best interests of the district and the encouragement of individual effort amongst the youth of the Dominion. It may be said that the show stands for progress and enterprise all the time. We hope, in a practical manner the people of the town and district will show their appreciation of this important institution, and will maJce the 1918 show & credit to Taranaki and to the Dominion." At Buj(garehu on Monday, Mr. Newton King will hold a clearing sale on account of Mr. A. Mouldey. The dairy cattle are a very fine line of grade Jerseys, i n fine condition, and all in Calf to the pedigree Jersey bull Belvedere Bilberry's Last. This champion bull is by 1C.C.8. out of Bilbery IV., and there should be great competition for him. Tlu yearling heifers are a very choice line. It is proposed to start the sale at 12 o'clock sharp.
