STRATFORD.

(from Out Own Correspondent.) [All communications, letters, etc., left with Mr H. J. Hopkins, bookseller, will receive prompt attention.] Stratford, June 13. The annual meeting of members of the Stratford A. and P- Association will be held in the Town Hall on June 29. The balance-sheet and report discloses a very successful year, one of the best yet experienced. During the year considerable improvements have been effected on the grounds. Converting the people's stand into luncheon and tea rooms also proved a decided improvement. Mention is made of the valuable assistance rendered by the ladies in the altering, and £ll6 net proceeds goes to their credit. The concert and dance held at the opening of tha rooms on the grounds netted over £2O. Regarding entries at the last show, sheep showed a decided improvement, bat the pig classes would be made more interesting with increased competition. The president (Mr. J. W- Boon) intends t» move that the show be held in tfae spring, as usual. Mrs. S. E. Morrison, VAJS., the wellknown lecturer, will deliver a lecture, "Modern Science and Life After Death," in the Medina Rooms, Municipal Buildings, on Sunday even i tig, at 1 o'clock. The lecture will be followed by readings from articles- All interested are inviited to attend.

T. LAMASOIPS WEEKLY REPORT. Last Saturday my usual weekly sale was held, when a very large entry of poultry, produce, furniture and sundries came to hand. I quote as follows: Hens Is 6d to 2s, roosters 2s, 2s Bd, ducks 2s 6d to 3s, potatoes 10s to 20s per*saek, bacon 8d to Is 2d per lb, apples 4s to 8s case, pears ditto, according to quality and Bize of case; furniture and sundries at usual auction rates. The eye® of the world are centred on the great German offensive, but the eyes of the thrifty wife are focussed on the good goods at small prices being offered by Mr. C E. James. His premises are replete with the useful and ornamental Goldware, silverware, copperware, and crockeiyware are to be found on the shelves and in packages- Mr. Man is also catered for, and he can smoke the fragrant weed, carry a walking-stick, and in his pocket choice reading matter, all procured at lowest prices from C. E. Jaaea.
