ENEMY MINEFIELD LOCATED.
NORTH OP NEW ZEALAND WARNING TO THE PUBLIC. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Might. The Naval Adviser announces that No w Zealand mine-sweeping trawlers have located a'ii enemy minefield northward of Now Zealand, between Cape Maria van Diemen and the North Cape about ten miles from tho shore. Two mines have been recovered and destroy, ed, and a third, in all probability, nas been located. Operations are being continued. The public are again warned that mines are liaible to break away and bo washed ashore. Should any person find such an obj&et, it should be reported at once to the nearest- naval or military police or Customs authority. It should not in any way be tampered with beyond endeavoring to make sure it does nut again float to sea. The appearand of the t.vpc of mine ibeing found at present U somewhat oval in shape, with five horns, two l.ft ing bolts at the top end and mooring arrangements at the base. The heiyiit is about 4ft liiij and the diameter about Bft,
