(From Our Own Correspondent ) Elthani, June 8. BOROUGH COUNTOIL. The Borough Council met last night. Present: The Mayor and Crs. Pfirrott, Stanners, Judd, Biallantine, White, Carman, Beesley, and 'JPaykr. After considering the matter in committee, it was resftved to cany out the following works:—West tanks and filters, £260; Conway Road tanks and filt ; ters, £3370; Castle Street tank and filters, £000; new Castle Street sewer, Din, £810; relaying Bin pipes along certain streets, £2100; tracing and repairing faulty house connections. £IOOO • two Gin sewers in Bridge Street, £165; alterations to sewer at restaurant, £125; and, with other alterations, making a total of £IO,OOO. A loin will be raised for the purpose. C. A. Wilkinson's application to make '•ertain improvements and additions to a building in Bridge Street east, was granted, and the use of the Athenaeum. Hal), to the Ladies' Patriotic Committee was granted on certain conditions. A DRUIDS' WELCOME. A public reception and welcome to Privatl) A. Excellent music for the dance was supplied by Mrs. Beesley, whilst the supper by the ladies was Al.
