"COME INSIDE." At the Empire Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday Sydney James will present his new Revue Company, including the Royal Strollers, in what is claimed to be the most up-to-date rerue ever produced in Australasia, and the title, "Come Inside," is indeed original, and is a quaint invitation to come and see the show. The old-fashioned cos-tume-comedy companies of which we have seen so many are now quite out of date, and Sydney James was the first to realise that nowadays the public want something bigger, brighter and more spectacular, and as an originator and producer of "Look Who's Here" he gave to Australia something entirely new and successful as that production was; lie was not satisfied, but set to work writing sketches, burlesques, and arranging new numbers, engaged from England new artists and produced "Come Inside," which according to report lias met with phenomenal success, and the New Zealand tour will no doubt be a repetition of the Australian one. To amuse and entertain and drive dull care away is what Sydney James aimed for, and the entertainment to be presented on Monday next fulfills these requirements. Some people prefer melo-drama, other vaudeville, musical comedy, comic opera, grand opera, burlesque, part singing, etc., so when it is stated that "Come Inside" embraces all these it should make a very wide appeal to theatre-goers and amusement seekers. On their previous visit the Royal Strollers attracted large audiences and made many friends, and this time they all return, but have with them a number of brilliant associates, and the combination is said to be a particularly good one. During the season oF two nights two entirely different programmes will be submitted, and the box plan for the season opens at Collier's on Monday.
