ACCELERATED SHIPBUILDING. Washington, June & Forty-four ships were constructed in May, totalling 203,570 tons. The total for five months is 160 ships, aggregating 1,112,897 tons. JUGO-SLAVS IN AMERICA. Received June 7, 7.45 p.m. Washington, June C. A deputation of Jugo-Slavs asked the Government to pass legislation giving them the status of friendly aliens. They promised that 50,000 would immediately enlist in the American army Such action would have a tremendous effect on the Jugo Slavs now in the Austrian army. The Government is considering the request. —Press Absoc.
