Sydney, June 6. .fimber merchants are protesting, against the New Zealand National Effl-' ciency Board's recommendation to prohibit the export of timber, particularly white pine required for boxing meat, butter, and rabbits for the Imperial Government- Owing to shortage of colonial timber, the decision will greatly affect local industries, and importers are petitioning the Minister of Customs to make representations to the New Zealand Government.—Press Assoc.
