A report lias been circulated among the Australian troops that the Commonwealth medical authorities favor lowering the medical standard and raising the age for service with the Australian force. A strong opinion is expressed against the change, as experience shows that elderly men are entirely unfitted for the rigorous winter campaigning, as they possess lesser recuperative powers. —Press Association.
