SOUTH TARANAKI WINTER SHOW.
This year a very decided feature of the show will be tlic public schools' section. Attached to a feature which muai appeal to all, young and old, is the section for Boy Scouts. The training given in the different scout camps is one that will be of the greatest benefit in after life, and will be most useful, too, if the scout, When he reaches nrn nhood, has to serve his country on the battlefield. With this training in view, the competitions are designed to educate the utmost originality and powers of observation in the boys. The first .will be a competition for the best map of the town in which a hoy lives and the area within a twomile radius. The second will be an essay on the work of. the Boy Scouts. Good prizes ara given for each. Boys
are reminded that tliey must write in pencil on the back of their exhibit tJheir class number, name, and address. Entries must be sent in to the secretary, P.O. Box 79, Hawera, or delivered at the Show Buildings on or before Saturday, ,Tune 15. It is hoped there will be a largo nuimlber of entries, and consequently, keen competition.
