Rome, May 31. An Italian naval officer states that owing to the success of anti-submarine measures, no Austrian submarines are now encountered. If the Entente pub-, lished the number of enemy submarines destroyed the figures would astound the world, especially the Germans, who have been persistently deceived. The British minefields in the North Sea have accounted for many; submarines.—Press, Association. AMERICAN TRANSPORT-SUNK. A DESTROYER BUILX'IN 16 DAYS.
