SHEEP DOG CHAMPION TRIALS
The most important meeting in connection with dog trials in Taranaki will commence on Tuesday morning, when the North Island championships will be held at Mr. Brewer's farm, Taiporohenui. Monday is a holiday, and therefore, in order to enaibie the public to see something of tlxig fine sport, the Tradesmen's Association met, at the request of the Egmont Sheep Dog Club, »and deoided to ask the (business people of Hawera to close on Wednesday afternoon. This was the unanimous decision of the Tradesmen's Association. There Will tlms be an opportunity for all to go out to the course. The sport is very fascinating, and as there will be dogs from all over New Zealand—the best which the Dominion can show—the work done will be of the highest class. It will be well worth seeing. It may he added, for the benefit of tJhe owners of dogs as well as of spectators, that the trials begin at 8 a.m. on each day. The route by wliidi to reach the course is along the Tawhiti Eoad and through Taiporohenui. Everything points to a most successful gathering.
