MOA ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the above board was held|on Saturday, when ther(i were present:—Messrs Corkill (chairman), Bowler, Hair, Henwood, Hunter, Reanby, and Todd-

The chairman reported on the month's work.

The chairman's report was adopted, and a hearty vote of thanfks was accorded him for hi# lengthy and able report-

The question of housing the plant was discusssed at some length, and it was resolved that the chairman and Messrs Bowler, Henwood, and Todd be appointed to report on the materials required for housing the plant. Mr. Reeßby reported having interviewed all the settlers on the Kaimata North Road, with the exception of two, and they were all in favor of obtaining a loan and putting the road throughout properly and be done with it-

It was resolved that the matter of getting an estimate for Kaimata Road North be left in the hands of Mbssts Hunter and Reesby. Mr. Hunter brought forward the question of allocating the Bristol Road rates, which, he held, had not been adjusted properly, and, on the motion of Mr. Henwood, it was resolved that a committee, consisting of Messrs Hair, Hunter, and the mover, be set up to go into the question of the allocation of the rates on the Bristol Road. In moviing Mr. Hunter said he thought that the Bristol Road should be a good way to the front on rates expendable. It was reported to the board that Mr. A. Senncll was at work on the Bristol Road, packing in metal, etc., and, on inquiry, no one seemed to know of his appointment, but it was said that he was appointed by Mr. Hogg, and was working there until ho received other instructions. It was resolved that the overseer be instructed to interview A. Bennett on the matter.

The chairman reported that he hod lent their roller engineer to the borough for a day, as their roller-engine had broken down in the middle of a. day's work, when the road was scarified and he had put the work right. The chairman's action was approved, it being mentioned that the borough had come to their assistance in an emergency a short time ago. Tlie Tattki Dairy Company wrote asking for the board's plant to go and crush and roll metal for the road at the factory, and it was resolved to do the work as soon as (he board hod the time available- Accounts amounting to £47 9s Sd pere passed, and the board adjourned.
