INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent ) Inglewood, May 31. Mr. Wagstaff, of th'e staff of the local school, has t been transferred to Mokoia, and leaves at an early date'to taka Bp his new duties. The Rev. Val Trigge is to deliver a patriotic address on Sunday afternoon in tie Town Hall. His Worship the Mayor will preside. The combined choirs and an orchestra are also to be in evidence, and Messrs Darlow and Gedd« are contributing solos. The proceeds are to be voted to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Much sympathy is felt for the relatives of the late R. Kilpatrick, who died as the result of the injuries received in his recent accident. The deceased was a very popular citizen, and took a very keen interest in all matters pertaining to' the welfare of the district, in his own 'immediate surroundings. He had been a director of the Maketawa Dairy Company for some time, and was a very active member of the' Norfolk Road School) Committee. Ho leaves a widow and four young children to mourn their loss. The Plunket nurse (Miss Wake) visited Inglewood to-day and met the local committee. Arrangements a're being made for tlhe nurse to visit Inglewood every Wednesday, when mothers will have a (fiance of receiving expert advice 1 for their babies. The gift auction in connection with the Patriotic Society is to he held at the Farmers' Yards on Wednesday, June 12, for cattle and sheep, while Newton King's Mart, on Saturday, June 8, will have the poultry, horses, etc., for sale for the same purpose. The lists from the different roads have been wonderfully well filled, and the sales promise to be an immense success.
