PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
BMSPERSAI, OP MR. MBLWWAS HEED, Although it is rather early to hold clearing sales, there was a large attendance oi buyers at Mr. Mellow's dispersal sale yesterday, and prices generally must be considered very satisfactory. Cattle were shown in very good condition, but it is more than probable that had tile cows been shown a few months later Mr. Mellow would have secured much higher returns. Messrs E. Cottier. an'i 0. Fainbrother were the auctioneers, and got through their work very promptly. The best price of the day was for the .tlirec-year-old cow Miss Patty Petune, which fell to the bid of Mr. f. Guy, Kftponga, for 80gs. The sire, Petune's Noble, was imported by Mr. E. Griffiths, and donated to the Patriotic Society, New Plymouth, and sold at Mr. Cvilhth's dispersal sale. There are very i'etv of this bred in Taranaki, and the most of them are keenly sought after. Mr. Hosltins paid top price in heifers, securing Aly's Shamrock for Tigs.
