CHILDREN'S WAR CERTIFICATE* SUBSCRIPTIONS IN SCHOOLS, By Telegraph.—-Press Association, Wellington, May 25. Seven hundred and fifty-six schools returned the sheets issued in December by the Postal Department whereby children can exchange sheets with six'tecn shillings m stamps affixed for a £ 1 War Loan certificate. ■ The best returns are:-—Maranui (Wellington) 52, Fernhills (Inveroargill) 34 Boh-bny (Auckland) 28, Whakatane (Thames) 20, Waikaka (InvercargiU) 23, Matakana (Auckland) 18. Empire Day celebrations took plac throughout the Commonwealth with marked enthusiasm and much recruiting activity,—Press Association. UNDER-AGE ENLISTMENTS. Received May 26, 5.5 p.m. Melbourne, May 25, Under the new regulation all minors enlisted without their parents' consent below the age now fixed are allowed to withdraw. In Victoria, under the reduced age, the enlistment of minors increased to sixty-one per cent, as compared with eighteen to twenty per cent previously. Mr. Watt says there is no intention to raise the new war loan immediately,— Press Association. *'
