PRESBYTERY OF TARANAKI.
The Presbytery of Taranaki met ia Hawera on Tuesday. The Moderator, Rev. T. Tait, presided over a good attendance of members. Rev. F. W. Robertson, a former minister of Elthara, was present and was welcomed by the Moderator. The clerk intimated to the Presbvtery the quota of the Home Mission Fund collection expected from the various con* gregations. A letter from Rev. 0. Blundell announced that Mr. ,T. Lawrence had been appointed to the work at Okato, The appointment, for three months, was confirmed. Rev. 1, Tait reported on the work at Opunake. The scarcity of men made the obtaining of supply a matter of difficulty. A committee of the Presbyterv was set up to assist in the question A letter from Dr. Gibb intimated that tlie Appeal Board of tho 'Presbyterian ■.Church would make no appeal on behalf Mr. C. h. Perkins, Home Missionary at Waita.ra. Homo missionaries' reports' from various stations indicated very many marks of progress. The discussion of these being interrupted by the hour of adjournmenf,, they, with some Assembly business, were held over until next meat* ing.~Star.
