DISTRICT NEWS.

KAPUNI. (From Our Own Correspondent). Visitors were present from every town all round the district at Jvapuni Hall last Friday, when the second fortnightly dance w T as held. The funds were devoted to the Soldiers' Comfort Guild. The committee were well rewarded for their hard work, and can be sure of large numbers meeting each fortnight at Kapuni. The music which was all that could be desired was in the capable hands of Miss Gardiner, and while Misses Harrison, Cately and Spiers and Privates H. Walker, a returned soldier, provided extras. Mr Gee, of Manaia, proved a past master at providing a sitdown supper. Messrs W. Johnson, H. Rieketts and F, Sharp, were indefatigable in their efforts to provide partners for all.

Mr C. Patterson met with a very painful accident to his hand through his horse slipping on the road to the factory We all wish him a speedy recovery.
