BOWLING.

CLOSING OF FITZROY GREEN. The closing game of the season on the Fitzroy Green was played yesterday afternoon, when seven rinks took part in the customary match President v. Vicemesident. The weather was delightful, though as the sun went down the cool breeze was felt by maDy of the players. The green was in perfect condition, showing no trace of wear and being remarkably true. The game resulted in a win for the President's teams by 180 to 144.

In a brief address at the conclusion of play, tlie President (Mr. (5. Smith) referred to the oast season as one of the best in the club's history, both as to success in play and finance. He referred with pride to the victory of Abbott's team in the Tarnnaki tournament, and announced that the club's championship singles had bee n won by Mr. L. Chivcrs, the runner-up being the veteran Mr. 0. Oxenfiam, After touching on war matters and expressing confidence in Mr. Lloyd George, he stated that the club's winter green would shortly be opened for play. The proceedings were concluded by the singing of the National Anthem! followed by cheers for the president, the ladies, and the V>ys at the front.
