TEMPERING JUSTICE WITH MEBOT; By Telegraph—Press Association. Tlmaru, last Night. The Timaru Borough Council to-night passed the following resolution, on the motion of the Mayor (Mr. James Maling) .*—"TSiat thus council, having regard to all tine ciwnimstances of the ease, urge 3 the Government to grant remission of the sentences passed on Messrs Langley, Flood, and Hunter, and would represent to the Government that it considers that the law having demonstrated its power, will now be best served by tempering justfce witb mercy.''
