NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.

Sometime just prior to June 18, 19,20 and 21st next, many people will be saying "let's go to the winter show at Palmerston North." There will be plenty for them to see and hear on those days as, in addition to the annual meetings and public conferences of the National Dairy Association of New Zealand the New Zealand Dairy- Factory Managers Association, and the annual exhibition of the Manawatu Poultry Association, there will be an exhibition of British trades and industries under the direction of His Majesty's Trade Commissioner for New Zealand, Mr R. W. Dalton. It is an easy mutter to find the why and wherefore for this, as there is nothing surer than the fact that the close of this devastating war will see tremendously severe competition for the trade of the world. The committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. & P. Association required no second prompting to allocate a big solid block of very valuable space in order to assist in keeping our Empire's goods in the front rank. The main features which have kept the "National" on top for "so many years are still provided for both indoors and outside. The N.Z. championships for butter, cheese, fruit, honey, and vegetables together with grain, grass seeds, roots, farm produce, photography, deer heads, needlework, cookery, etc., all appear in the comprehensive schedule as before. The machinery hall with its very fine display will, of course, be a leading feature aa in the past. The Wangairui and Te Aute College boys will again have their annual football argument, the sheep dog trials which proved such an attractian last year and the ever popular horse leaping competitions will occupy the attention of all those devoted to outdoor sports. AH classes are catered for and separate prize schedules (general ■xnd poultry) may be had free on application to Secretary, Box 85, rPalraerston Uorth, General entries close Ist June.
