A SENSATIONAL STORY.

ALLEGED OI'T'TCE ROBBERY. AS TULD BY TATISTJi By Telegraph.—i Press Association Auckland, Last. Night. A sensational story of an alleged robbery on Tuesday has been told by a young woman typixte in a local nllicc. iSJic states that on the evening in question she was working overtime, and about six o'clock was surprised at the entry into the office of two young men. Tho taller of the two stepped in, picked up her cloth coat from off the table and threw it round her head, while the other man clasped her hands behind her back and ran her into the manager's oilice. Here the taller man, finding a woollen scarf, tied it outside the coat round her head, rendering her incapable of calling for assistance, and almost preventing her breathing. He then relieved the younger man of the charge and ordered the latter to "Get to it." The younger man evidently understood, for tho young woman heard his footsteps as he proceeded to the table, lifted the keys and opened the door, removing all the silver. While the safe was being robbed the man in charge asked anxiously: "Right? No cheques." The other replied in the negative. The man at the safe moved, out of the office, and when he had evidently reached the main entrance the young woman's hands were released and the man decamped along with his mate.
