FORTY-FIRST REINFORCEMENTS.

NEW PLYMOUTH DRAFT. The New Plymouth draft of men forj the 41st Reinforcements left for camp by the mail train yesterday morning. The usual farewell was accorded the men at the railway station. The draft included the first balloted Second Division men to enter camp from this district. The usual parcels of comforts were distributed amongst the men by members o£ the Patriotic Committee, on behalf of the Women's Patriotic Committee. At the station, where the attendance of the public was not large, a short address was given by the Mayor (Mr. 0. H. Burgess), who said the people were present to show their appreciation of the fact that the men were going to fight their battles. While regretting the call that took them away, he was sure that they would uphold the honor of the comrades alongside whom they were going out to fight. In the name of the community he wished them farewell and God-speed, and, if Providence willed it, a safe and speedy return. He then called for cheers for the men, which were heartily given. The Citizens' Band was in attendance, and played several selections, including "Auld Lang Syne," as the train left the platform, to the additional accompaniment ,of renewed cheering and the screeching of sirens. Following arfi the names of the men who went away: W. H. Combe, C. L. Jury, W. Knowles, J. S. Lister, R. Matthews, .1. O'Neill, F. W. Prentice, S. W. Roebuck, R. N. Rook, T. C. Sheehy, N. T. Sinclair, H. Todd, and C. C. R, Winter. At Hawera the men were addressed by the Mayor and Mr. W. R. Ilaselden, S.M. On the departure of the train, cheers were given for the men and their comrades at the front.
