HOUSEHOLDERS' MEETINGS.

ELECTION RESULTS. The following were elected as members of school committees for the districts mentioned, at the householders' meetings on Monday night last:— opunake. The following committee was elected: —Messrs J. Mildenhall, J. W. Burton, C. Malcolm, T. Sinclair, and 11. Scott. At a subsequent meeting, Mr. Mildenhall was re-elected chairman and Mr. Sinclair secretary and treasurer. ' .RIVERLEA. Mr. O'Neill presided at the Riverlea meeting. The report and balance-sheet; showing a credit balance of a little over £2O, was read and adopted. There were only five present, and the following resolution was unanimously passed:—■ "That, owing to the lack of. interest shown by the residents in school affairs, those present decline to nominate themselves as a committee for the ensuing yijiir." i TE ROTI. At the annual meeting of householders, held on Monday night, Mr. W. Chatterton, chairman of tho outgoing committee, presided over the small attendance of six persons. It was resolved not to elect a committee from such a' small attendance, some of those present speaking very strongly against the parents and guardians in not rolling up to see to the welfare and future education of their children. PIITAMA. The meeting of householders on Monday night was poorly attended- Mr. P. S. Riley presided. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £0 lis 2d. The following committee was elected:—Messrs Riley (chairman), A. M'Koown, J. Faulkner, W. Lambie, and J. Pettigrew (secretary). It was decided to approach the board to have the school enlarged.
