A SURFEIT OP SPEEGHE& *7 (From Our Own Correspondent-)' Wellington ,April 26. Members of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association will meet one day next week to discuss the break up of the jAnzac dinner and decide what should be clone to prevent anything of the kind happening again. The present indications are that certain returned men will he invited to leave the association. "We arc absolutely determined that the Returned Soldiers' Association shall not •harbor undesirable elements," said #n official to-day. "Our ibadge has come to mean a great deal in this country. It has to be earned honorably, and it must be honored when it is won.' Last night some men shamed all of us, and compelled the premature closing of a gathering ield primarily in honor of dead comrades. We will deal with the offenders in our own way." There is another side to the affair. Some of the returned men themselves point out that they had more than a surfeit of speeches yesterday. Ministers made a round dozen of speeches during the day, and there were other people on various platforms as well. When the time for the Anzac dinner arrived the returned men many of whom'had not worn uniform for a year, were in a mood to relax,'and they grew restive when they found that they were to hear the ministers again.
