LIVE STOCK SALES. ADDINGTON. At Addington market to-day the yardings of stock, except fat cattle, were somewhat smaller than the week before. There was practically 110, change in the store sheep market, the quality generally being inferior. Prime fat lambs maintained their value, but medium and inferior sorts were a easier. Fat sheep met with a good sale 'all through, with practically 110 change in prices. Fat cattle met with a better demand, the quality showing improvement. Freezing buyers were operating 011 the basis of 42a fid for steer, and 38s 6d for cow beef per 100 lb. There was a limited demand for store cattle, the quality being poor Good dairy cows sold well, as did fat pigs. Unfinished pigs and stores were slow of sale. Store sheep—Two-tooth ewes 22s Id to 33s (id, four and six-tooth ewes to 23s (id, four, nix and eight-tooth ewes IDs to 31s 9d, sound-mouth ewes 18s to 245, two and four-tooth wethers 24s to 27s 6d, four and six-tooth wethers 29a fid, ewe lamba 14s 7d, wether lambs 13s to 20s 4d, mixed sex lambs 10s 4d to 235, shorn (West Coast) ISs to 21s 7d. Fat lambs.—-Extra prime to 35s lOd, prime 27s (id to 32s 3d, medium 23s Od to 275, lighter 20s to 235, shorn (West Coast) 20s 6d to 27s od. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to 46a Od, prime wethers 30s 6d to 41s, lighter wethers 20s Id to 365, merino wethers 21s Od to 25s lOd, extra prime ewes 39s 3d, .prime ewes 34s to 37s (id, medium ewes iis Od to 33s Od, lighter ewes 23s to 20s. Fat Cattle: Prime steers £ls to £l3 ss, ordinary £ll to £l4los, prime lieifers £l4 to £lO 15s, ordinary £9 2s 6d to £l3 10s, prime cows to £lO, ordinary cows £7 10s to £ll ss. Store Cattle.—Eighteen-month £5 12s, dry cowa £3 to £B. Pigs.—Choppers £4 to £8 10s, baconera £4 to £0 53 (equal to 7Jd to Sd per lb), porkers £2 7s (id to £3 10s (equal to B|d to 9d per lbj, large stores £2 8s to £2 12s, medium 38s to 40s, smaller 18s to 30s, weaners lis to 18s. BURNSLDE. Dunedin, April 24. , At the Burnside stock market 202 fat cattle were penned, including a good number of prime quality. Competition was not very keen, and a drop in prices was recorded. Best bullocks fetched £l7 to £1!), extra £24, medium £l4 10s to £lO, best cows and heifers £l3 to £ls, medium £ll to £l2, others £lO upwards. Sheep—3lß4 were penned, and competition was keen for prime quality, which was firm at late rates. Medium and inferior were in less demand, prices dropping about la. Best wethers fetched 41s to 455, extra 48s (3d, medium good 33s to 365, best ewes 37s to 41s, extra 455, medium good 30s to 33a, others 25s upwards. Lambs 1180 were penned; competition was keen, and values firm at late rates. Pigs—Medium yarding; fats cleared at prices about 10s below last week's rates; small yarding of stores, but prices were lower than of late, probably owing to a large extent to the high price of feed.
