. .. , ■ EVERYBODY'S. ETHEL CLAYTON IN "THE WOMAN BENEATH." Commencing at the matinee this afternoon, Ethel Clayton will be featured in the World film drama, "The Woman l!i>ne<ith," "High Society" comes in for caustic treatment in thk W6rld film drama. Ethel ! Clayton is'sei?n in a role that matches her'talent'admirably. (She is a society bud who marries a self-made young millionaire 'from the West. Naturally tHeir idqaa about marriage are totally dissimilar. He cannot understand her love of frivolity and excitement, and the fact that she is always surrounded by men friends. '• He tells her a story to test her, after i a furious quarrel, that he has lost all his money. Her actions are then a complete surprise to him, and he is puzzled by her apparent anxiety to make amends. Then he comes upon her in the apartments of an old lover. The story is well told and the surprise is cleverly concealed to the very end. The settings are naturally of the most luxurious description, as the whole action takes place in the houses of New York's smart set. Supporting the star there is the sixth episode of the thrilling serial success, "The Girl and the Game." ' THE EMPIRE. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. VIOLA DANA IN "ALADDIN'S OTHER LAMP." The kiddies will be delighted with the Metro feature, "Aladdin's Othjer Lamp," which will be the star item on the programme this afternoon. Other pictures include the eighth- episode of "Peg o' the Ring," and a laughable comedy j "With or Without," and the Australian Gazette. The same programme will be repeated for the last time to-night. } COMING MONDAY. OLIVE THOMAS IN "INDISCREET CORINNE." Commencing on Monday, will be introduced the sparkling Triangle feature "Indiscreet Corinne," with the brilliant and versatile Olive Thomas in the leading role. On the same programme tliere is the second series of the big Pa the topical film, "History of the War." This all-star selection will be shown for three nights.
